Seeing the dog attack at the airport thread got me made me think people just do shite because they can. Why in the frick do you need a “support” pit bull and have to take it on a plane. You just have a support animal because the law says you can have one, you really don’t need one. Same goes with people who get tased or beat up by police while claiming they are doing nothing wrong. Sure you “technically” not breaking the law but the cop said to stop so fricking stop or face the consequences.

Because they don't want to pay for the dog to fly, and/or they don't want their "precious" to be put in a crate and stuck in the cargo area.

I'm with you on the emotional support animal part and most of the spirit of your post but what legal consequences should someone face for not breaking the law?

Agree. Similar to buying fancy cars or houses or student loans for degrees that won’t pay fair value compared to the amount it costs for the loans. Just because you can does not mean you should.

I was in the waiting room of an orthopedic clinic the other day and a woman had her emotional support labradoodle in tow. The place was packed and nearly everyone in there is on crutches, boots or slings. She seemed normal and It’s hard to believe people are such emotional wrecks that that have to bring animals to the most inappropriate places.

ESAs vs cops being shitheads
Just because you can conflate two things doesn't mean you should.
Part of the issue with ESAs is people can't imagine people NOT wanting to be around their pet. It is human nature and requires a second level of cognitive thought that many people never bother with.
