Walk Ons is all I eat.

Nah, I'm just saying.. I'll eat where I want to, or what I'm craving, and it has nothing to do with whether its a small business or not.

A lot of the smaller local places will just fold.

That is a sad reality...I wish people would try to support the smaller shops, but people are staying home, damage has already been done...

Eat where you want... you’re still an a-hole for not considering local business that could shut down if they don’t keep some money coming in as opposed to PF Chang’s which is in no danger

If the govt is gonna step in and make you close....the govt should pay for it then.

Free market capitalism isn't morally obligated to any business. I got to-go from a local brew-pub yesterday. If the food and offerings are good, the business will do just fine and survive. The only people that I feel truly sorry for are bar/club/venue owners. They have no path for revenue during all of this.

would add that it's also a good time for those that have steady work right now to buy gift certificates from some local businesses you frequent (music/book shops, barbers etc etc) that are closed due to measures right now.

This is a great suggestion.

You sound fat. I bet your reviews hinge on portion size.

There does have to be a tipping point where you balance health policy and economics. Personally? I'm sure about to do some take out just to support our local restaurants, but there's compelling arguments not to do that too. Who knows. I feel this is not a good idea. There are high chances of people who don't know they are sick YET, preparing food for others. This is how virus flu numbers continue to increase day after day. We haven't reached peak yet. I feel the better idea would be for everyone to stay home. I say this with all due respect.

Regarding that...

The Great American Takeout is this Tuesday 3/24. All Americans are encouraged to order at least one of your family’s meals to go.

Think of the possibilities: breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, even beer/wine/liquor for some areas. Or all of them!

Please make plans on Tuesday to support at least one of your local restaurants and its staff. An extra generous tip is great too, if you can swing it.

What about the local employees of chains that are hurting? Or the local franchisee?

Support the establishments you normally frequent. Locals work the chains too.
