While my cop pals would suggest a baseball bat (allegedly), I prefer old hickory pick axe handle. Little old lady can swing one pretty easy and usually can break something on the first swing without a whole lot of effort (also allegedly).

Works better if they are already in cardio. At rest the punch may not work as expected. You want to end a threat in 4 seconds or less. Lots of good soft tissue spots that are more effective, like throat, eyeballs, or certain spots on the side of the head and neck.

That works and you could send them to a dirt nap. I was more thinking getting your finger in and pulling and eyeball out. Reasonable (lucky, allegedly) self defense and humans in shock tend to end resistance.
