Doesn't the band/promoter choose the venue which to sell tickets?
Their hand is forced pretty often as well by Live Nation/TM. It's hard to book a tour with only independent venue stops. So even they have to give in to the demands or face the consequences.

As long as this rule truly falls within the power or discretion the actual law(s) have given the FTC (which isn’t always the case) it is a good thing (not sure about the aspect of it leveling the competitive playing field). Hopefully it limits hiding NIL supplemental fees added onto tickets.
If empowered by law and not limited to these 2 particular types of transactions I am not sure why it doesn’t remove this for more than “pricing for live-event tickets and short-term lodging” including the govt’s regulatory fees added for utilities & cellphone plans along with things like forced gratuity, fees added on by businesses for using credit cards instead of cash, car dealership add on fees, and so on that can also be just mentioned in the fine print at some places before you really see them in the total amount due.
If it’s not within the law than I am against it only because the end doesn’t justify the means just like with judicial overreach, and congress should be forced to act on these issues instead of judges or executive decrees or take not acting as a statement as well. I say this with Biden as President who I don’t like as well as when the person who received my support - Trump - gets inaugurated.

That garbage should be illegal in all industries.
Yes.
If FTC has this power within the law I don’t know why they limited this to online ticketing to live events and short term stays.

TBH, business travel used to be a lot more fun. I would love to be home more these days. The international stuff is still pretty cool though.

Only on the OT would mouth breathers be supporting a corporation’s right to tack on junk fees to their purchases.
