Don’t get me wrong — it’s not totally dead. I also haven’t been in a while. It’s just that it was THE place to be on a Wednesday amongst both older college students and young professionals.
Most of the people who used to go are now married and settled, which I’m sure factors in. The younger folks don’t even hardly know what Bulldog is. Cousin just graduated LSU and she’s never been to Bulldog in her life.

Who knows. I have good friends who still patronize the establishment, one however, refuses. She had a panic attack sitting at the bar because of the amount of people inside. There’s no regulation whatsoever inside.
Still operating as a bar because they have a “restaurant” permit means they can stay open. I guess the kitchen stays open until the last patron leaves now?

As i said in another thread in order to get the restaurant conditional you have to do 50% food, so everyone who is getting that license is coding at least 51% of everything as food to satisfy the requirement. The bars in Metairie who have the AR license because they couldn't get a bar license due to zoning have been doing that for years in order to operate as a bar under the disguise of a restaurant. Essentially you buy all of the business food, personal food, family members food under the business checking account and business credit card when you go to the grocery for home and you code a bunch of stuff as food that's alcohol. If they ever audit you which they don't you have purchases that are in the ballpark. I believe everyone should be open, but the fact that the bad actors who circumvented zoning laws are open and operating openly as bars while the bars who had the correct licenses are shuttered is fricking horseshite.

Well none of the bars had restaurant licenses prior except MAYBE Ivars but I actually think they got it at the beginning of Covid.
They rest that are open have all only recently obtained them.
I can’t fault them. If you serve food/have a kitchen, get it however you can.

Yes. They got zoned as a restaurant back when restaurants opened in phase 1.
