When are we going to start treating churches like the businesses that they are?
Let me guess, you want Churches to be taxed, right? And you also believe churches should have zero voice or presence in government in any shape, form, or fashion, right?

I'm not a fan of taxation but I see no reason why they shouldn't be paying them if everybody else has to.

Eh, that's a touchy one. It's more of a case by case basis than a general blanket statement.

Either you believe in separation of church and state or you don’t. Which is it?

He lost me with his BLM activism

I believe in separation but it isn't as black and white as you are trying to make it.
I believe that government officials should be able to freely openly practice their religion of choice but i do not believe that the government should officially recognize or favor any religion.

Oh but it is. If you believe churches should be taxed then you can’t exclude them from from the government.

I remember when inspiration like this was pretty much free

When did Dabo become a preacher?

That will be $40.00, please.

They aren't currently excluded from the government. They receive a lot of subsidies and government funds that are collected from tax payers and businesses. Not sure what point you're trying to make.

Joel Osteen and Gordon McKernan are the same person. At least Gordon pays some taxes.

He is really not any different than like a Tony Robbins. He doesn’t pay taxes though, however I would bet that he probably does donate a ton of money from the church to charities. So I really don’t have a problem with him. If he makes people feel better and they are willing to pay, it’s fine by me. It’s not like he is selling magic water, his message really does help certain people.

For people like Osteen yeah I agree, but 99.99% of churches (or other religious institutions, not necessarily Christian ones) aren’t like that. And why the desire to treat them like businesses, just to get more tax dollars or is there some other reason?
I have no problem not taxing churches... UNLESS they engage in politics. If you are using your church to actively promote a political agenda, using it as a campaign tool for a certain candidate or candidates, you get taxed like any other business. You lose your tax exempt status. Separation of Church and State should apply to churches as it does to government. If you're a church and you comingle the two, you get taxed. Period.

Because so many operate like businesses.

That's some deep shite right there.
WTF does that even mean?
So that is something that applies to everyone? What are these forces? Does everyone have the equal amount for forces?
Yeah, tell that to some homeless Indian guy living on the beach drinking sewage from the river or a mother that lost her entire family in a drone strike.
