I watched a foreign movie about that once, based somewhat on a true story. The castratti in the story was surgically castrated very young because his brother was a famous composer and the younger brother's youthful voice was perfect. Puberty would have ruined it and affected the older brother's career.

So evil ole brother had his castrated to keep the money and fame flowing to himself. The castration was just the type where they drug up the victim, cut his nuts off in a crude but swift way and then immerse his bleeding naked body in a tub of milk which instantly turned crimson.

BUt that explains sooooo much about Michael and what damage these hormone drugs can do to people and frick them up mentally and physically for life.
