First of all, I have never called anyone this, in any form of media. I don't find it funny or clever.
Secondly, saying something on a message board and saying something as a direct personal attack are completely different things.
This board is like a fraternity, people razz each other, but at the end of the day we show compassion for one another. See any disaster thread for evidence.

As you know, or probably don't, under the knew healthcare bill anyone with a pre-existing condition would not be covered
False
It will depend on each State whether it's covered. Some may charge additional fee to cover. It's not a definitive NO.

quote:Well your response was awfully snow-flake like. Kennedy compared him to Charlie Sheen and he called him an inbred in return. It seems somewhat playful back and forth within the context of a serious discussion.
You calling me a snowflake?
The fact that you are so sure that he's insulting the entire south, and seemed to be offended by it, is awfully snowflake like.
I mean 3/4ths of my wife's grandparents are from rural West Virginia. And given how large her extended family is, I jokingly insinuate that there must have been some inbreeding. I don't actually believe that nor do I believe most anybody from WV is, at least now that it's a lot more uncommon everywhere. They don't get bothered by it because they know it's a joke.
Just like I don't get bothered by jokes about Ohio's ugly women or the mistake on the lake or any number of jokes based on stereotypes. A snowflake may though.
quote:Never. People joke. You can either choose to go along with it or be offended by it. Snowflakes get offended, especially when it's harmless.
When will this shite stop?

Most likely correct.
Need to let Jimmy K in on the corndog joke.

Well I'm not offended, but I'm not impressed. You want to call me a snowflake because I don't like the guy for what he said? Fine, but I'd hardly say I had some sort of a meltdown.
The dude cried on national tv over this issue, it isn't a joke to him. We are talking about the biggest issue in the US right now.

Thank you for telling me how I feel. I'm not offended, but I think he loses credibility with his comments. Is that not fair?

Feel bad for him? He is a politician. This is part of the game.

That wasn't my intention. I live in the south, it's always been a dumb generalization. Like you said, it extends all the way to WV.
I am really just trying to say that it's a bit disingenuous to use a generalized insult to a group of people when your overarching message is that some should sacrifice for the sake of others.
quote:
I didn't say you melted down
My understanding of the term was that snowflakes melt, but I guess that to some it means people think they are unique and special.

No. But I don't think the insult is based on a serious belief.
Neither do I. But again, I just don't think you should cut people down when trying to have a discussion, if you are literally crying about it.
I appreciate you keeping the conversation civil, although I'm not sure we see eye to eye.
