JFK Assassination Timeline Question

I was under the impression that Oswald applied for the job at the school book depository after learning of the route that JFK would be taking. Guy on the news who was former chairman of the house select committee who investigated the assassination said Oswald was already working at the school book depository when he found out the route and he then planned accordingly. I know this isn't a MAJOR error either way. But I was just wondering. Seems like that's quite a coincidence.

If he decided to assassinate him and didn't work at the depository he still could have done it.
It isn't like the location afforded him some great opportunity, he was quickly identified and caught.

His first target was General George Walker so if he succeeds maybe he doesn't attempt or have the oppurtunity to kill Kennedy. Thanks James Franco.

Maybe the route was set after it was known that he worked there so he could have the opportunity. The question is "who picked the route"?

It was General Edwin Walker and yes he already worked at the book depository before the route was known. Also if you've ever been to Dealy Plaza you might know that Main st goes through downtown but does not give you access to Stennis Freeway (which is where he needed to go to speak next) so the route was altered even after publishing to accommodate this.
