I was in 8th grade.Principal announced over intercom that Kennedy had been shot.Teacher started leading the class in prayer.Little while later principal came back on and announced that he had died.
I don’t remember if we were let out early.

I was a Friday in 9th grade PE class, which meant a touch football game, a younger student came out and said they want us to come in immediately, "the president's been shot".
We went to our classroom and they had a TV set up, by the time we got settled, Walter Cronkite was on and said "the president is dead".
The busses brought us home, my mother and sisters were crying, except for a touch football break, we watched TV through Monday. I was watching Sunday morning when Jack Ruby shot Oswald and killed him.

I was 3. I distinctly remember me mum explaining “The President,” who died, the word “country” and “the world” with a basketball-sized globe.
Blew my mind that I could not see our house in “Louisiana, where we live.” Incomprehensible concepts to me then, especially size and scale, but I never forgot it.

I was on the field in Jr. High School learning how to play soccer. We never played soccer again after that. In those days, soccer was not much of a sport in the US schools. This was just a PE learning experience for us.
