No Honda scooter, but yes, Popeye's was a rice field. Well, there may have been an old house on that corner way back when.

G Vice, I was a sweet, innocent young thing. Don't recall a club north of I-10. Now Kim's, the Lakeshore Club, maybe the occasional visit to Pancho's Rendezvous Lounge...

I haven't lived in either crowley or jennings, but I've been to both almost once every other week for the past 7 years. Plus all of my Crowley friends are cooler than my Jennings friends.

ETA: And they don't have a string of unsolved murders.

Is Jeff Davis the parish that out of state drivers claimed they were being targeted by the local cops as they drove through on the interstate? I remember 20/20 or one of those programs doing a segment on it and sending in undercover drivers with hidden cameras. Maybe it really is a cop behind this.

That was an NBC Dateline investigation back in the 90s

And there was some pretty terrible video splicing that occurred in the publishing of their "case."

I wouldn't doubt it. I don't think I've ever gone back and looked at it TBH.

The Lakeshore Club

A happnin' place in the 60's, 70's and early-mid 80's.

I'm profiling you as a Schlitz drinker who likes to mix up some Ronnie Milsap and some D.L. Menard, and a little Johnny Allen.

My dad's side of the family was born and raised in jennings. Grandfather was town dentist for decades (passed a few years ago) and grandmother taught at all Jennings schools during her career. I hope the families get some closure but doubt it.

I don't drink beer, but the last time I tried (summer before going to USL) it was Schlitz and Budweiser. *shudder* Boones Farm was more to my liking. And Bacardi and Coke.

I love all three musical artists you mentioned, but my repertoire is slightly bigger than that! Back atcha!

All people from Jennings can smell an open bottle of Boones Farm from two blocks away. That was the running joke at our old LSU tailgates, at least.

And, if memory serves, zero desire to return to a non-alumni softball tournament event.

I'd say Crowley is nicer. They get the edge because they don't have a serial killer that we know about.

they also have a much better downtown area

Yeah I don't know how someone could think Jennings was better than Crowley.

Always had fun when my dad would bring me to these

Best part was my grandparents lived off first st. so the old high school was right around the corner. Anytime i had to duck and dodge, i would go over there

if you have the time, read that article I posted above...its pretty clear this is not the work of a serial killer. So many interesting connections between the police, the suspects and all of the victims knowing each other and some of the suspects and nearly all being present during a police raid gone bad before any of the killing started.
