Finally making good on going through all the plays.
Still early on, about half way through Henry 6th part 2.
Jack Cade has cut the head off a nobleman and his son.

O, brave! Re-enter one with the heads
CADE But is not this braver? Let them kiss one another, for they loved well when they were alive. Now part them again, lest they consult about the giving up of some more towns in France. Soldiers, defer the spoil of the city until night: for with these borne before us, instead of maces, will we ride through the streets, and at every corner have them kiss. Away! Exeunt

So you're just reading Shakespeare at 12:48am Tuesday morning?
Prolly shoulda smoked a bowl or 2 first

I don't believe in doing drugs other than social drinking. Really any, unless for health reasons. I don't take an Advil even. Unless I'm super sick

I hate weed and I think it's a horrible influence to society. I've known it to ruin more lives that I know than other drugs or alcohol. That isn't the topic though and I realize I'm in the minority so I'm passed giving a frick About that issue
so you're only doing it for medicinal purposes right now?

I reworded my sentiments.
I don't think people should be aiming to alter their current state through consumable actions. Unless they're using it for pain killers, which is a whole other issue.
But people hide their lives behind drugs (including marijuana and I find they lose sight of who they really are)

I think Chaucer takes the cake.
Here in The Miller's Tale from The Canterbury Tales, a man's wife is actively having an affair while another suitor calls her to the window to kiss her face, but she gives him her bare arse instead:

quote:
"Have done," said she, "come on, and do it fast,
Before we're seen by any neighbour's eye."
This Absalom did wipe his mouth all dry;
Dark was the night as pitch, aye dark as coal,
And through the window she put out her hole.
And Absalom no better felt nor worse,
But with his mouth he kissed her naked arse
Right greedily, before he knew of this.
Aback he leapt- it seemed somehow amiss,
For well he knew a woman has no beard;
He'd felt a thing all rough and longish haired,
And said, "Oh fie, alas! What did I do?"
"Teehee!" she laughed, and clapped the, window to;
And Absalom went forth a sorry pace.
"A beard! A beard!" cried clever Nicholas,
"Now by God's corpus, this goes fair and well!"

Of course you didn’t get the dazed and confused reference

That's sexually graphic humor.
That isn't two decapitsted heads being paraded around the city and forced to kiss as a political point. Shakespeare's line is just disturbing

Among the many words Shakespeare created, none was used more on here than 'baw'.

I thought you meant sexually graphic.
I stayed with me Grandparents a lot as my Parents traveled with their friends.
I hung out in my Aunt's old room upstairs and found her porn literature.
"Lady Charterlee's Lover" was gold at the age of 12.

From Henry XI, act 4, scene 4
Thou festulent scrump,
With hair of gloop and Eyes of crust,
Your sword unknown to sheath so long,
It has turned to rust,
What feckless half-progeny your palm produced,
Lay writhing on the dust,
Were’t you the last man doth remain’d
Still would the lasses flee thou lust.

Your sword unknown to sheath so long,
It has turned to rust,
What feckless half-progeny your palm produced,
Lay writhing on the dust,
Were’t you the last man doth remain’d
Still would the lasses flee thou lust.
