Are those trucks with 4 doors really a jeep? I'm skeptical and that's a rhetorical.

I love mine (besides the ride). Very practical when having kids. Has huge trunk area. But, back seat sits straight up for whatever reason. I would rather have an inch or two more back room instead of the huge trunk area. They make a kit to move it back tho. I get alot of compliments. Nice to have a convertible 4x4

On my 07 jk unlimited I run 35 inch m16 super swampers on a 3.5 inch suspension lift with blistein 5100 shocks and 2 inch spacers.
Rides like a champ as long as I rotate the tires frequently.

Rotating tires and keeping them aligned is key to avoid death wobble. Had to make sure it was done frequently on my "12 JKU. It ran 34s and a 3 inch lift.

The only ones I might want would be a Scrambler or an old Flattie. CJ7 is just an old rustic version of today's 2DR Wrangler. I've had a YJ and now a TJ. No reason for a CJ7 other than Nostalgia.

I do go off roading. Colorado once a year, tunica hills a few times a year, and various other places here and there.
I've searched constantly and its a mix of reviews on if I can fit a 285/75/R17 with a leveling kit and 1.5" wheel spacers or not. Everyone says I can run a 285/70/R17 no issues with the leveling and spacers though.

You can get away without a level lift, if you trim up some things. if you really dont want a lift.
But since you are a 4dr, if you lift, you might as well do it all and go closer to 35". looks much better on the 4drs, IMO. You can do a cheaper lift for about the same as a level lift.
See how true to size those tires run as well for your final decision.

Some friends of mine have the cheaper lifts on them. They ride like shite. I'd like to either keep the same ride quality or improve it. If I do lift it, I'll go with the Mopar 2.5" lift and let the dealership install it.
I have the lifetime molar backed warranty, So I don't want to lose that.

Wouldn't say that, loved my Wrangler as much as my first CJ7.
I'm not trying to hate but have honestly never driven one. Short wheel base means a lot to me..it's a great feeling.

So did I....they dont back shite(I can go into my in depth story if you like, but at least I have a 6.4 now), but a lift wont change that.
If you wheel you should be able to work on your jeep at least a bit. dont have a dealer install, they will just rip you off and mopar kits are junk and rebranded if you get the "good" ones
FWIW, you can put on a lift yourself with minimal tools, like less than $200 if you have to buy a jack and stands

Yup. That's my plan, one of these days. Way easier on the coils than with the old leaf springs on the CJ/YJ years. My neighbor has a lifted Dodge 2500 or 3500, so he has a floor jack in his garage. We've talked about it before, and between a 6 pack of beer and an afternoon we could get it done.

I’ve changed mine a few times and axle swaps are essentially a lift change as well. I can do it in about an hour or two. But that’s because I’ve done it.
First time took about 4-5 hrs and did it in an apartment parking lot.
Vast majority of dealers sub out the work to local 4x4 shops and mark up the install.

Installing an aftermarket lift correctly will not void the warranty. If the dealer tells or told you that, he's full of shite.

exactly and any part that might go bad from a lift will be considered a wear item anyways and not covered under the warranty.
Also, Fiats first ploy in the lifetime warranty is to deny, deny, deny....
if its anything major you will have to get an attorney
