Roger clueless as always.

quote:

Between 1946 and 1952, Washington invested $2.2 billion — or $18 billion in real 21st-century dollars adjusted for inflation — in Japan’s reconstruction effort. That amounts to more than one-third of the $65 billion in goods that the United States exported to Japan in 2013

And that doesn't mention the huge military presence that is ongoing.

Japan probably is better than the USA, especially if you are Asian. I would still rather live in rural texas, own land, shoot guns, and all that. If you like city living then Japan might be the move.

his. If this country hadn't built their country back for them, it'd be a 3rd world shite hole. It is a 3rd world shite hole if you leave the major cities and see how the rest of the country lives. As usual, the OT has a very narrow and childish view of things.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve read on this board in a while. I lived in a rural prefecture ( Oita) and it’s FAR from a shithole. It’s actually awesome from Kyushu to Hokkaido , The schools are better, the roads are better, the facilities in communities are better, the scenery is lush and gorgeous, the people are simple and friendly. The smaller villages are even better than the cities imho.

You haven’t even been. STFU. I feel my IQ drop every time I read one of your Gumpy redneck, never left your state posts. Embarrassing.

No shite you idiot. And how do you think they'd have fared after the war without help? They were absolutely ruined. The US took it easy on them.

Hey fktard, the man is lecturing you.

Shut your corksoaker and listen, you barely literate, wannabe thug.

He has FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE, you pants-drooping imbecile.

Every bit of "knowledge" you possess is from watching cable-access black-militant infomercials hosted by local crazies who divide their time between "fighting the man" and committing felonies.

You are THE dumbest, most dishonest MFer on TD.

"Third world shithole"? My son, age 39, has lived there for 6 yrs now, so he lived over half his life here in the U.S. Long enough to be able to give a valid comparison of the differences. He's traveled all over Japan, well outside the "major cities". On my 2 visits, we specifically stayed away from the major cities. Cleanliness. Politeness. In comparison to today's America, relatively crimeless...bike riding is a major form of transportation & of the 1000's of parked bikes, I saw zero bike locks; they just park & walk. Educationally, their mid school teachers & up are college professors-like. Rural Japan is beautiful. Their respect for their elders is off the charts, especially in comparison to here. Food is great. Life expectancy is years longer. The toilet seats are heated. Culturally, yes, according to my Japanese daughter-in-law, the population is 90% + Japanese. My son has found no negative aspects of that in his daily life. It is a male dominated society. The population is slowly decreasing; son says the marriage rate is dropping. Happily married with one young daughter & another on the way, he will not be returning as he overwhelmingly prefers living in Japan.

Everyone of y'all falls for the show they put on to westerners. Such simple minded fools.

They have serious, death of a nation type problems right at their doorstep.
