I think the clarity and power of this telescope, and being in orbit instead of on earth, is expected to reveal things never seen. It sounds cool.

For one, black holes used be a thing more in the realm of science fiction. I'm probably going to confuse more than help trying without going into a long explanation and possibly jumping details, but considering evidence of a black hole in the center of our own galaxy, and time itself (our own reality) stopping at the event horizon, it's becoming likely that there much higher laws of physics that govern our world than what Newton's laws of gravity will account for. In short, just because our eyes are constructed to reveal certain frequencies at certain speeds that our brain will interpret as colors, matter, time, etc... doesn't mean we are seeing and experiencing all that is going on around us... most scientists now agree there's proof that much is more going on in the time and space plane than what we've been taught. The Hubble took giant leaps into realizations that were as great as the ones that revealed earth is not the center of all that exists as we once believed. By peering even deeper into space he James Webb will be able to capture patterns of the universe going back as much as 13 billion years...by seeing remnants of light that left by stars that no longer exist. Calculations from Hubble already illustrate that travel faster than light exists by the expansion of the universe itself. By apparent dark matter and dark energy most agree that we are only aware of less than half of the matter and energy that exists around us. Our reality based on what light allows our eyes to see and our "time" based on what our brains can process is apparently not the last word of what is really going on.... The James Webb will expose much more...
