By this theory, Southeast Missouri and Eastern Tennessee should be the most violent areas of the USA.

It's always something, blaming something or someone else for problems in the shite, hoodrat community.

Racist redlining is a myth. Banks looked at maps and drew lines around he poor, dilapidated, run down areas. Everything the government builds here is destroyed, abused, or neglected, so investing in property here is just throwing money away. This was a guide to ensure fiscal responsibility, not a targeted attack against black people. The redlined areas were still only 14% black, the overwhelming majority was white. The rate of black home ownership actually grew faster than whites during the period of redlining, so any claim of "long term negative effects" is emotion laden nonsense.

quote:It is a medically proven fact that exposure to lead in certain quantities early in life will cause cognitive impairment. Cognitive impairment includes critical thinking, impulse control, rational problem solving, de-escalation of problems. It also opens the door for pathological social defiance disorders (like they really cannot help themselves).
I guess the argument is that since you have high lead exposure, everyone around you does too. And high lead exposure leads to increased violent behavior in general. Which increases the probability that some of that violent behavior will be visited on you. It's a lot of steps to get there, but I guess it's not entirely wrong.
Mix that with growing up surrounded by thug life, no accountability environments, no social guardrails from family or friends, and believing your only options in life are (1) steal it, (2) frick it, (3) shoot it.
Now mix that with cheap handgun sales
That is a recipe for a fricking disaster. This is public health problem that became a LE problem, that's becoming a social albatross around all of our necks.

Racist redlining is a myth.

They said the same thing about the Pacific Northwest and their large population of serial killers.

You can get the reports online. Lead wasn't even a real concern. It's arsenic and chromium mostly. Don't eat the dirt.
