This was recommended on my YouTube just now and it's just a live stream of a town in Wyoming's square.

Apparently people are watching it for no real reason but it's kind of funny.

The stream

article about it

quote:

Why are thousands of people watching this live stream of a random town in Wyoming? Internet obsesses over Jackson Hole

-Thousands of people spent their Sunday watching a live feed of the town center in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for no apparent reason
-It is thought the video was posted to 4chan, with one user promising to go to the town and do something for the camera
-The sudden uptick in viewers then caused YouTube to start promoting the video on its homepage, which drove viewership up further
-Now the pointlessness of the video seems to have become its own joke

"Bus! Jaywalking! Illegal! Drug deal!"

Jackson isn't exactly a random town It's a very high end resort where a lot of billionaires hang out. Sort of like a more rustic version of Aspen that hasn't been completely ruined by overdevelopment (not yet, but it's getting there.)

Maybe they are all looking for the lost hiker/climber?

Yeah, that's what the article says, and they had a big 10% YOY growth in tourism too.

Looks like a cool place.

Chat went nuts when the Dominoes car went by, the internet is hilarious.

Which is the main thing ruining it, and why I don't go there any more. I hate the places I like getting "discovered." I don't like Alaskan cruises either, for the same reason.

Please tell us where you do go, Jeremiah Johnson, so we can all go "discover" it too.

Jackson Hole was already a huge tourist spot when I went there as a kid.

Did you stop going to Yellowstone too once everyone else "discovered" it?

There's also a second cam with a different angle from across the street. Much less traffic on there. They seem to try to run off the RED TRUCK folks.
