But you aren’t from there, you chose to move there as an adult(right?)
I promise you people born in that valley often think zero of views like that.
Also I’m speaking to the whole. Individuals out there never stop appreciating their natural beauty. But the majority does

Places like that are wonderful in the Summer but the winters are brutal.
Aspen , Leadville, Breckinridge, Santa Fe are great in the Summer.
I worked in Los Alamos during the winter , it never got above freezing. The neutrino detector that I was helping to build was in a metal building that had one kerosene heater (this was a project funded by the DOE and CalTech) and we would take breaks to warm our freezing bodies in front of that one heater.
At dawn it was fun to see the frozen condensation on the inside of the window glass. Snow piled up 10 feet high next the parking lots and roads. At 10,000 feet it appeared that the air was turning blue during a February day.
Much too cold for a Louisiana boy.

You do realize this is the view from my place right?
It really depends on the person and what they value. I lived for several years in a very similar view in Alaska and went numb quick to it and didn't really care about it by the time I left. It was just a normal view.
It all comes down to choice, living in Alaska wasn't a dream location for me. It was really pretty to see for a bit, but I wanted out to go somewhere else quick. Sounds like your view is a dream location for you.
