Breathylzer the cops throw out the manual bc it clearly says it is for 185 pound man. They don't want that brought up in court

Yep probable cause and develop case. I would prefer they establish number and test with blood test

Unless they have an ambulance on site at the time of engagement, blood tests are a waste. Too much time elapses between then and when they can get you to take the blood test.

During the no refusal weekends, they had ambulances out specifically for this purpose.

Alcoholics at .08 don't feel shite and act as sober as Bernie Sanders watching tax revenue decrease.

I would really be interested to know what the level looks like on a grouping of people pulled over for driving like they are impaired. I'd bet few are anywhere near .08.

good point, where I work they might cut you some slack for a first offense DUI charge, but it is based on the BAC, too high and they consider you to have a tolerance, I still know people that aren't big drinkers that after watching them have one or two drinks at a party are in no shape to operate a light switch, much less drive

Hard arse, bet you've never broken the law and put others in danger while you were driving.

I had a coworker who would develop very loose lips and say weird stuff after a couple glasses of wine in an hour, but she seemed fairly coordinated. But she weighed 115 lbs.

I would bet most pulled over for suspicion of drunk driving are well above .12

I think a person who is texting and driving should be punished as much if not more than a person with .08 BAC.

Agreed.

I bet more accidents and deaths are caused by texting and driving than drunk driving.

MADD and politicians don't give a frick though. DWIs keep cities and states afloat financially. No way they would impose the same stigma and liability on soccer moms and teenage girls.

couldn't speculate on the exact BAC but I agree, I'd be willing to bet that most of the "perps" are habitual offenders that get caught just by the odds of it eventually happening

In NJ you have to take Breathlyzer or you lose license.

Curious how accurate those are.

I am all for stopping drunk driving. I generally won't even do one or 2 if driving.

Knew an old guy who probably drove over the limit 4 times a week. He'd do a walk around inspection on his car before leaving his house, drive at the speed limit and as safely as possible. Had never been pulled over. I'd imagine those who get busted get away with it hundreds of times

There's the issue, they can be accurate under perfect circumstances, but at large, they aren't. I say take the breathalyzer if presented with the option, cause if you take it and pass other tests, or the blood test comes back as less than .08, you have a better chance at beating it than if you refuse the test, and automatically get your license taken away.

Ha. Well it was a pretty specific test to show what .08 felt like. Basically drink 3 budweisers fast and wait for it to hit you then do shite. Wasn't wasted just obviously felt the effects and not as sharp as normal.
