Ive been to INDIA many times. I communicate weekly with friends there and work with dozens of expats. They have some of the highest population densities in the world with some of the worst sanitation conditions. Everything is on the line for them and they aren’t letting politics get in the way of saving lives.

How are you defining parasite? A parasite is simply one organism that lives in (or on) another organism and derives its energy to the detriment of the host organism. Again a virus (a subcellular organism) living inside of a human cell (or any cell for that matter), and using the machinery of that human cell to replicate is by its very definition a parasite.
Parasite (note the capital P) is used in another sense to describe pathogens that are more advanced organisms such as protozoa (amoeba, plasmodium, guirdia, etc), worms (and higher organisms such as mites, ticks, etc.)
So, my point was that while some on here were ridiculing the poster who asked if COVID-19 virus (SARS CoV-2) was a parasite, the poster did actually have a point, whether this was said in jest or he/she was asking a rhetorical question he/she knew the answer to.
