It is also the second largest country in Africa, in terms of size, next to Algeria. It is so odd that it is this quite large country, with this tiny little coastline.
Also... I will freely admit... I thought it would be Libya or the Sudan in second place in terms of size.
I think, at least I hope, that a lot of my problems with African geography is that I memorized all the countries... back in the 70s.

I should clarify: largest francophone country by population, not land mass. It has even more people than France itself. Which makes sense, because it's a massive country.

Nah. Probably not. The Vietnamese have held onto their culture and language for two or three thousand years despite being occupied by larger neighbors.
Odd factoid. In terms of population that speaks English India, Pakistan, and the Philippines all come in ahead of the United Kingdom.
