My corgi is 17. Our family will be having to make the same decision in the not-so-distant future. I feel for you.

They’re great dogs.

I think a lot more people wait too long than act too early.

I give my morkie insulin shots twice a day and a prescription food, but he still has a great quality of life with them. I've known people who couldn't bring themselves to put their dog down when it was obviously suffering.

I have an 8 year old English Bulldog and while she can still get frisky, I see other issues and know her heart and love keeps her going. I'll have to in time. Not looking forward to it at all.

I had to put my Boston Terrier down almost 2 years ago, and it still hurts. We had him before the kids. It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

swear, we need a board solely for this topic. This is pretty much a daily thread...

Threads about Euthanized dogs, camera tickets, and generations have been popular

And in every one of these threads, I make a comment to please have to vet come to your house in order to save the sweet pup from the vet visit panic.
My vet gave me downers that I gave my dog that morning. She laid down in her bed and went to sleep. Barely lifted her head when the vet administered the euthanasia. I have had to put several down, but this was the best way.
Sorry for your lose, OP.

Had to put one down with cancer years ago. Never forgot it, but he was suffering big time.

Just buried my current dog yesterday. She had a bad case of COPD and had quit eating and drinking. She died at home early yesterday morning. Glad she got to leave on her own terms. Otherwise, I would have had to have her put down. She was 13 and one damned great dog. Had great times together. Going to miss her.

Damn I have a corgi that looks so similar to her. The look on her face says it all. You made her real happy.

Sorry to hear this. She's a beautiful pup, and clearly you made her very happy.

I lost my pup recently. And while it was the worst pain I've experienced to date, it gets better with time. Give yourself time to grieve, and heal. Whether it's collecting her belongings after, or even deciding to get a new pup, it's all on your timeline and no one else's.

Also, I find looking at pictures and videos of my pup helps -- kinda makes it feel like he's still here.

You are a piece of shite. I posted about my dog dying on this board over ten years ago. I posted how my wife was distraught and weeping. A very prominent poster on this site thought it was cool to make a joke about this. He doesn't know it but one day there will be a tailgate or a ot meet up or something and he is going to get beat so bad I might go to prison. I relish that fricking day.

I.e. Running your mouth on what you think is an anonymous message board might come to bite you you piece of shite

My thoughts are with you brother man. Bout 6 weeks ago I had to do the same. It's tough. And hurts so dam bad. My ole dog was awesome. They never criticize us, never reject us, always accepting and loving, and never let us down. People on the other hand....
Focus on the good, it helps me to remember the good times. Fun times. Bless you my man..
