The NFL expects artists to feel like it’s a privilege to be able to play the half time show. The artists say nah.

Every half second of a Super Bowl broadcast is worth a half million bucks in advertising revenue.

The NFL already has the old white and black guy demographic.
We watch the game and at halftime we tend to what's most important...the BBQ Grill and making sure the family is fed.
The NFL knows we really don't pay too much attention to the halftime show.
To increase revenues the NFL needs the demographic that rarely watches football.
So us old white and black guys suffer the consequences of greed
and for those that stated "Lars is the greatest drummer ever"
I'm a Metallica fan but you need to get out more.
