Ha, we never had San Goody (but did have Camelot).

I remember when I went to cities that had Tower Records, I thought it was insane.

Never and I do mean never go to mall for music. Albums were overpriced at the mall.

I was thinking that, but it was the original question.

Growing up in metro Atlanta, it was CDWarehouse. Used cds, dvds, and games. 20 bucks could pick up a copy of Cracker's Kerosene Hat and Blink 182's Dude Ranch.

And I could still have 5 bucks for a pack of smokes.

Probably spend over an hour in Sam Goody’s looking through all the tapes and listening to the free samples on the headsets, but not buy anything. Then take my $20 and head to the food court to find the cheapest way to eat a snack for $5 that includes an icee. Then head to the arcade to blow the other $15 before I have to meet my mom out in front of Macy’s at 7:00pm on the dot

Man that hit home. Simpler times for sure.

I got the bulk of my CDs from BMG, which was similar to Columbia House. Someone told me to write on there to not send me the random stuff or whatever and it seemed to work. I would generally only order when there was good deal going on and it was mostly older CDs.

If I wanted something new I would head to the east and go to circuit city. They had cheaper CDs than the local spots in the parish and generally had everything. I would get stuff at the mall on occasion if I was already there. Mostly whatever was at Lakeside. However my brother did work at the Riverwalk Mall so I spent some time there and remember buy 2Pac All Eyez On Me there.

There used to be a great locally owned music store on Jefferson near Government about where Jed's poboys is now but I can't recall the name of it.

The Compact Disc Store. You could find just about anything there.

If I'm going back with the knowledge I have now I'm buying some vinyl because some are worth thousands now and they were next to nothing back then.
