But hey, snitches get stitches.
This is why the black on black violence isn’t going away. And they want to self-police.

BR's decline is generally linked to the busing rulings of judge parker
That’s the truth. It destroyed neighborhoods, schools, and any personal affinity to areas of town people once took pride in.
I started Jr High when all that shite started, and it was one giant cluster of misery for everyone involved.

You still had Republican governors and state legislators. Not shocked that this is never accounted for.
Who have no control over the local police force etc.
You admit my statement is correct with your weak retort and blatant deflection.
Typical. It's never you nor your elected government officials fault is it?
NEVER

NOLA has had three shitty mayors in a row hasn't it?

My dad and stepmom raised us in East Sherwood forest. My mom and stepdad lived off of HollyWood Street in NBR. I felt safe in both areas during the late 70s thru mid 80's.
I used to feel ok driving Plank road at night. Today, I would not be caught anywhere north of I-12 past sunset.

Yep, same time period. Matter of fact, I dated 2 different girls who lived off Hollywood near Plank. One went to Redemptorist, and the other to Istrouma.

Just call it like I see it.
Thanks for the kind words.

Fallguy is right. BR wasn’t nearly this bad when i was growing up, or at the very least it wasn’t this spread out.
It had dangerous areas back then too but they were pretty isolated and fairly easily avoided.

Howell Park and Fairfield’s Ave used to be decent back in the 70’s, working class area. Driving down Winbourne to Fairfield’s Ave could catch you a bullet today, by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, regardless if it is day or night.

Enough is enough.
One day they are going to have to admit that we don't have a gun problem in this nation, but a gang problem.

I live in BR now and just my neighborhood has changed within 5 years - BR seems to move at a faster pace than NOLA

We used to play pickup BBall at Howell all the time back when there was a gym there.

Funny - but I grew up in the city of New Orleans - not the burbs - so I’m used to mixed neighborhoods and people walking up and down all the time - the neighborhood I live in in BR has always been pretty diverse - the problem is the group homes that have moved in
Black people don’t bother me. In the 15 years I’ve lived in BR I’ve only called the cops on white guys.
Sorry to disappoint you.
