Otis Redding?

Fun fact

quote:

Jazze Pha was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. His father is James Alexander, bassist for the Bar-Kays, an influential group on the Memphis soul scene in the 1960s. His mother, Denise Williams, is an accomplished singer, having worked with everyone from Earth, Wind, and Fire to Barbra Streisand. Pha was named after the late Phalon Jones, another member of the Bar-Kays, who died in the December 10, 1967, plane crash that also killed three other Bar-Kays members and Otis Redding.

Silkk the Shocker says hello, for one.

There's a YouTube video where Beats By The Pound producer KLC talks about how Silkk had to learn on the fly. He wasn't a rapper but his brother Master P forced him into it as away out of Nola after their brother Kevin was killed in Laplace.

I mean he went Platinum back to back albums in consecutive years and was #1 on Billboard 200.

If you glanced at the rap game for half a second in the late 90s, you knew who he was.

Looking at his numbers, he was overrated

I listened to everything back then. Knew who Biggie was, Tupac, Dre, Snoop, NWA, etc.

Never heard of the other person.

If I wanted to listen to a heavy set black man huff his way through complaints about his problems, I'd pull up a stool at Louie's about 3AM.

Good point.

50 Cent
Kendrick Lamar
DMX
Big Pun
Jadakiss
Royce da 5’9”
Lupe Fiasco
Future

All on the tops list.

Most overrated when you see him above 2Pac, JayZ, Lil Wayne, Andree 3000, Drake, sure. Not of all time.

I guess it’s personal preference but he will always be in my top 10 and isn’t overrated for the time he had to do his thing.

Im assuming you knew Master P and No Limit Records? Thats one of his brothers. He was on every album in that record company pretty much. If you listened to any Master P or No Limit, its practically impossible to not know who he is

Tupac, Smalls, and NWA predated his popularity. Not really in the same timeframe

I'll be honest, I didn't know who Master P was back then.

Maybe that's why I don't know him. Anyway...

it was just his excuse to put his garbage meme in here.

instead of making an actual thread about the guys music and how people still talk about him today because of the songs he put out, he made it a racial thing because hes a troll.
