If all the thugs in Mobile are armed then tell me WHERE (similar size city in the Southeast) they are NOT armed?
I’ll take Mobile (live right above it in Satsuma) 10x out of 10 as opposed to Montgomery, Birmingham, Atlanta, Jackson, Baton Rouge, NOLA, Pensacola etc etc etc.
I lived most of my early life in Selma. I went to public school. “They” are not the enemy. The element within that demographic who live the gangster thug lifestyle (black, white, latino) are the problem.
Taking guns away from law abiding people does NOTHING to slow the flow of arms available to criminals.
It was a domestic situation that could have happened at a church, day care, school, public park, one of the men’s jobs, take your pic. A single fatal event downtown does not mean downtown is no longer safe. I’d bet good money it’s safer there than the downtown of any of the towns I listed above.

I’ve been awake since Katrina my friend. The hatred and violence we experienced from these refugees was something I will never forget.

I rarely ever go downtown. Satsuma, I live in Springhill and thought it was safe here. The good ole boy issue was always a problem here, but that’s a different story. Wait until you are the victim of real crime, you might have a different opinion.
To be totally frank, the DA is a pawn of the criminal defense bar. Many of them are from old money. They threw huge fundraising parties for him. I literally was dealing with a criminal defense lawyer that still had an election banner up for Keith as he tried to get us to take a shite deal that the precious administration convinces us to pursue. He is a total idiot matched by his level of incompetence only by the ADA that was assigned. I have the transcript and it’s unbelievable. He told us he had never actually represented a live victim and treated us like idiots and criminals while kissing the arse of the idiot defense lawyer, and alleging the previous ADA , now a Judge overcharged the case so it would be dismissed. The judge disagreed and tried to help him at every turn but you can’t fix stupid.

I feel bad for any town in they landed in. I’m sure not all were horrible (like old people), but I know Baton Rouge went downhill even more and I hear Houston fussing, too. I think that’s the people coming home now that they are of age who were causing the issues and driving with fake tags until real law enforcement stepped up.

At this point I want to give criminals free time at the range so they can improve their aim.
They want to kill each other, go ahead, just stop hitting innocents because you are such a bad shot..,

I always thought Mobile was a known dump. Was it once something other than shitty?

About 12 or so years ago I was in a parking lot in a strip mall on Airport Rd one night (around 9-10pm) - a little lost trying to meet up with some friends.
I was on my phone trying to find directions to something. This was way before Apple CarPlay was a normal thing to have in cars like today.. a car pulled up behind me and two white dudes both got out of their car quickly walking up to mine. Luckily I still had my car turned on and I sped off but I still think to this day that they were about to rob me

It's pretty much all a black issue in BR. People want to sound PC these days, but we might have 120 homicides and 118 of them are black. It's an uncomfortable conversation everyone needs to have.
