That is true about Muslims and Christians from that area but I was specifically referring to the Jewish people.

That's because you are talking about the "Semitic" people, when referring to the gene pool. Semites are not only Jews, but Arabs as well.

Wow, a one-sided documentary placing fault with the other. That's different.

If the Israelis don't like where they live, why don't they just leave?

Did I do that right?

Of course Israel wants peace. It also wants to keep what it has. I do think Israel seeks justifications to push back against aggression, but do you really think that absent Palestinian aggression, Israel would initiate military actions?

Israel wants peace, ON THEIR TERMS. They want a Jewish majority - which they will NEVER have unless they can eliminate the Arabs, which they are doing.

Israel will not have peace unless they lift the occupation, give the Arabs their full rights, and basically respect people of other faiths as equal human beings.

Does anyone really think that Palestinians hate Israelis because they are Jewish?

This is it in a nutshell.

What part of this do people not understand?

This is disingenuous. The Serbs don't hate the Croats because they're Christian (or even Catholic, for that matter) - they hate them because they're Croat - and vice versa. They both hate the Bosnians (Muslim), and the Bosnians hate them back. It's an ethnic/tribal hatred, fostered by the Turks and, later, the Yugoslav Federal government for control purposes.

The anti-semetism (which is ironic, as Arabs are semetic as well) in the Middle East is fostered by many of the Islamic schools and by the secular Arab governments - their faith and Arab nationalism teaches them they are the highest of G-d's creatures. That is believable to the average citizen of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain or Qatar - but think what the average Palestinian goes through - when they look around and everything they see conflicts with this message, this causes a significant amount of emotional distress.

And the same people who are telling them these things then give them the people to blame for their squalor - the Israelis (and their big brother, the United States.)

If only there were no Israelis, everything would be wine and roses. That's the message - some see through it, but others obviously don't and strap bombs to their children.

Once again Ace Midnight, nails it.

Folks do your research with an open mind. If you still think the Jews are the problem, then you are either dumb or have an agenda.

There is nothing here I would argue with. Which sort of tap dances around my question, which is not really "disingenuous," but more "Socratic."

I know that the popular, uneducated, and inaccurate response would be that Palestinians are no different than Al Queda - they hate the west and freedom, yada yada.

My point is, from my knowledge and experience as the son of a Palestinian Christian - there is no hatred for Judaism when you peel the layers off. There is contempt for Zionism, which strips Palestinians of their rights of self determination.

I am tired of the generalizations, but you seem to see where I am going and I sense knowledge of the nuts and bolts of what is happening.

Now that is disingenuous!

Yes, there are parties on both side of the conflict who hate each other. Be aware of it, but remember not all Isrealis and Palestinians are that filled with hatred.

There is good and bad on both sides of this conflict.

As a supporter of Israel, that was a well thought out post. I don't wholly agree, but good job.

Agreed. There are extremists on both sides, but I believe they are a minority. Unfortunately, they also in power.
