The issue is you are looking at it via a United States Army Officer. Having trained with various IDF units I can say they are not looking at it from that way. They know what it will entail and they aren’t gonna be pushing tempo whole hog like Marines in Fallujah. It will be slow and methodical and using overwhelming fire power. Will they take significant casualties yes. But in their minds they don’t care about the Hamas PR campaign and it is a fight for their survival. It’s easy to feel sorry for little dead Hajjis living in the US of A, eating bon-bons while your fat arse sits on a couch. It’s a whole another things when the images of Oct 7th are fresh in their minds knowing the morally repugnant filth attacked civilian targets. Had they limited it to IDF bases I could respect the people of Gaza. They did not and I have absolutely no sympathy for Hamas or anyone that supports them. May they all burn in Jahannam!

On a different note I hope we do everything we can behind the scenes to crush Egypt. Trying to negotiate for the Palestinians in order to evacuate foreign nationals out of Gaza is some serious bull shite. Maybe Iran or Russia can give them $1B annually for their defense forces.

Dude the only thing they may win is the PR campaign and the Jews figure that they take MSM hits regardless so why not finish these ragheads.

The Israeli Ground Forces are a militia with a core of professional soldiers. It can conduct small raids in Lebanon, or Syria, and it can operate effectively as a police force. But anything bigger than that is going to be a challenge.

They don't have career NCO, which means their junior officers are doing double duty, and their reservists don't get the training they need to perform well. Fighting in an urban area like Gaza will tax their weak points, while negating many of their advantages. Technology, will become a lot less important. Firepower will be less important. Airpower won't be that useful. Heavy casualties are likely under these circumstances, and Israel has always been very leery about that. And Israel hasn't fought a war like this since 1982. And hasn't fought on this scale since 1973.

On top of the differences in mentality, I think the IDF’s focus will be on destroying infrastructure (tunnel system) rather than killing fighters.

Hamas can get more fighters tomorrow. Rebuilding millions in underground tunnels and the munitions stored there? That’s harder.

They took on Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Egypt and won.

It won’t be over in a week, but they will have no problem with the sand people in Gaza.

Yes and no. The reservist combat units are up on the Lebanese border. The units that will go into Gaza will be primarily their active duty units. The primary technological advantage will be first fighting at night, second combined arms of tanks, chain guns, mortars, drones and ATGMs to take out fortified positions. Maybe the occasional attack helo. Air support will be used to seal objectives. Like I said it will be a slow methodical attack where city blocks a night will be the goal. This will last months. Also they aren’t gonna be dealing with Hezbollah. The training and log train of Hamas is no where near as advanced as Hezbollah. In comparison Hamas is a true JV foe without an ability to C & C their units.

I think calling them JV is probably overstating it a bit. More like park and rec pickup teams.

Or is that a war crime?

Anything that is effective is a war crime.

Of course, the reason we are here is that Hamas committed a ton of war crimes against Israel civilians and are now using Gaza citizens as human shields. But they won’t want to talk about that.

I don’t think that exists. The mainstream media has allowed US and Euro muzzles to frame everything with “APARTHEID”.

The medias job isn’t to objectively report the news. It’s to keep us divided.

There is a distinct possibility that Hamas may have just hit an evacuation route from northern Gaza with a VBIED, framing it as an Israeli air strike.

Wonder if this will get on the MSM like CNN is trying to do when they think it's the isrealis

I was under the impression Israel practice is to lead with bulldozers to clear mines and uncover some of the entrances to the tunnels.

The dozers are for when they have done incursions into occupied areas usually to destroy the house of a “martyr”. In MOUT it is better not to rubble the buildings if you can help it and make your own entry to attack.

Im trying to find a reliable source of breaking news. I dont want any opinion or reports on “innocent” losses or video thats more than say 6 hours old. Twitter YouTube or even a website where the focus is on current happenings only would be very much appreciated.

I think most consistent posters here and in the Ukraine thread fine OSINTdefender on Twitter to be reliable, current, and unbiased/presenting without opinion.

They’ll assume it was the Israelis then correct themselves in a few months when it no longer matters.

Iran’s foreign minister warns Israel from Beirut it could suffer ‘a huge earthquake’
quote:

Amirabdollahian left Beirut Saturday afternoon following a tour that took him to Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, where Tehran enjoys wide influence.

Amirabdollahian said he met Friday Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who briefed him on the group’s conditions in Lebanon.

“I know about the scenarios that Hezbollah has put in place,” Amirabdollahian said. “Any step the resistance (Hezbollah) will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity.”

Amirabdollahian added: “I want to warn the war criminals and those who support this entity before it’s too late to stop the crimes against civilians in Gaza, because it might be too late in few hours.”
quote:

Israel considers Hezbollah its most serious immediate threat, estimating it has some 150,000 rockets and missiles, including precision-guided missiles that can hit anywhere in Israel. The group, which has thousands of battle-hardened fighters who participated in Syria’s 12-year conflict, also has different types of military drones.

Tall talk from a guy whose minister had trouble landing because airports in Syria got smacked right before he landed.

700 children reportedly killed since last Saturday per UNIFEF, according to local officials - numbers may or may not be accurate given the propoganda value for Gaza when inflating the same

How many of those “children” have a full beard and were wearing a GoPro while paragliding into Israel?
