My June, July and August utility bill (that includes electricity, water, and gas) usually runs in the $300s. Got my utility bill two weeks ago and it was $402 and some change.. That was a little more than usual, but whatever; the AC runs a lot, etc.

Then today they sent a revised bill that shows my utility bill is actually $256 and some change.. Last week, I noticed the utility department was around checking people's meters. I had no idea whether they came to my neighborhood or not, but has everyone's utility bill been on par this month?

Power was $376 last month. That is about 25% more than it usually is this time of the year.

Ours was $150. It’s never been higher than that. We keep the house at 67, so I’m not sure why it’s so low.

So your $402 bill was revised to $256? That's a huge revision.
I don't remember what my bill was for July but I remember thinking that it was three times higher than May and a little higher than June. We have had a hot summer. Bills should be high for August and September and start to lower in October.

Nothing out of the ordinary. Usage goes up around 4PM-10PM. The least usage between midnight at 5AM.

Do you live in apartment or townhouse? That seems low for a home at that temp.

How you doin’?

I got my heat tolerance way up so my thermostat is never below 75.

Electric has run a few dollars over $100/month through the summer.

No. Ascension separates electric, gas, water/sewer, and trash. Water/sewer is like $50, gas is $15-20, and trash is I think $70 every 3 months. BF pays the bills, so I’m guessing on those.

Nah. Single fam house ~ 2000 sf. Not huge. I think the AC is too powerful for the house. That might help?

And I’m well :) how’ve you been, Bush?

Ours has been running about $100 less a month. We did get a new unit late last summer so that is probably why. And tbh, I've heard the utility companies often "guesstimate" your usage, maybe that's why your bill was adjusted, they actually went out and read the meter. I have personally seen the meter reader one time at our house, and we've been in this house since 1996.
