I always get sad seeing people in their late 50s/early 60s who are completely broken and out of shape and barely moving around the grocery store.

When you've been out of shape for a long time your benchmark for what you consider feeling pretty good is skewed. You don't realize how shitty you were actually feeling until you get in to shape. They probably don't realize how much better they could feel.

The same thing is true for the prevalence of overweight and obese people. When everyone is 230+, 200 lbs looks thin even though it's not.

Fat acceptance isn't the landwhale on the cover of Cosmo. It's the average pudgy guy thinking he is in fine shape since everyone else is.

Yup. I'm in my mid 30s and noticing that my friends who aren't very active are aging WAY faster than those of us who are. It's pretty sad to see.

Not sure, a friend of mine gained 40 lbs after having two kids, the husband (who was not small) said she needed to lose weight or he’d leave, she lost 60!! Lbs he left anyway - they got divorced and not too long ago, he married a woman who is bigger than my friend was before she lost the weight

So it probably wasn't really about the weight. Your friend should've given more BJ's.
