As an aspiring bourbon nerd, I agree. I gave up on the allocated bottles a long time ago. Too much great bourbon sitting on shelves at local liquor stores to pay 100x more for a “hard to find” bottle from the same mash bill. I still look when I go, but I’m not paying much over retail, waiting in line, or any of the other crazy shite for it.
