i wouldnt ever want any family to be celebs. Youre constantly surrounded by fake people and loser celeb worshippers.

So many of these comments would have you think it’s nothing but severely mentally ill cat ladies and that simply isn’t the case

Swift got coded as liberal, so the grumpy baws on here just assumed the worst stereotypes of liberal women would be out.

I would have bet on a pretty normal group to see the biggest pop act on earth, personally.

You wont agree with this comment, but I feel like for a popstar she is fairly normally adjusted and maybe that is also why people like her. She kinda beat the odds for a teen star turned adult.

Her parents were and still are very involved in her life and tours. She didn't get passed around the industry like many do so seems normally adjusted if that makes sense. Probably because they were well off to begin with.

Yes, people might not like her personality. But she didn't end up like Britney Spears, Amanda Bynes, Bieber, etc. So a better role model. And even if we don't want it, kids will look up to artists, they always have.

Which is why I respect people who have tasted celebrity, but have called out the trappings of it. This is part of why I love Pink Floyd so much. They used their voice and art to warn people of this:

“Have A Cigar"

Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar
You're gonna go far, you're gonna fly high
You're never gonna die
You're gonna make it if you try
They're gonna love you

Well, I've always had a deep respect
And I mean that most sincerely
The band is just fantastic
That is really what I think
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?
We call it Riding the Gravy Train

We're just knocked out
We heard about the sell-out
You gotta get an album out
You owe it to the people
We're so happy we can hardly count

Everybody else is just green
Have you seen the chart?
It's a hell of a start
It could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?
We call it Riding the Gravy Train

Living in the limelight, the universal dream
For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be, must put aside the alienation
Get on with the fascination
The real relation, the underlying theme

Living in a fisheye lens
Caught in the camera eye
I have no heart to lie
I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend

Rush was / is also quite influential for me.

Ironically, maybe responsible use of celebrity is the way

There is not much of that on display these days…

She's a fabricated public presence, thats not a knock on her, 90% of celebs are just that. You and I only know what she releases to the public.

There are two kinds of stars.

These are your pop stars. They just want to be famous and rich.

These are your artists.

I respect the hell out of those who stay true to themselves, dont have to sell out and loathe the "limelight."

There is nothing wrong with Swift the person, but her music is made for the very young masses. Its sugary fluff. I really respect what she did as a business, but as for content...its pretty terrible.

I mean at one point she was having fans into her homes to have listening parties with her. So she gives her fans a lot more than most.

I don't feel like arguing today, as much fun as I've had with it all week, I do have plans today.

I think thats part of the appeal, she's non threatening to 25 year old women.

If Creed is a joke to most to the public, what is Taylor Swift?

Creeds lyrics has 10x more meaning than anything Swift has ever put out.

I wouldn’t call Bieber a whore per se, he’s only taken 1 dick.

I understand but I was once a young man and no way I’d let a dude bend me over.

To each his own I guess.
