Is there a way to find out a state trooper's name from the badge#?

I got pulled over last night
NBD, just a non-moving violation, but I can't read the guy's signature. I don't have a beef with him or anything, but I'd like to know his name just because I like to know who I'm dealing with.

Call the precinct & tell them you're from BLM; you'll get a prompt response

If I was law enforcement, I wouldn't want people I've given fines to, to know my name, mainly for my family's protection. Some lunatic finding out your wife's name or where your kids go to kindergarten at.

Well, he told me his name, I just didn't catch the last part of it. It's not like he was undercover or anything.

Yeah. Because of the implication.

This ends with you getting a beatdown, arrested for terrorism and having a plunger removed from your unit.

Did you get a good look at his hands?

Where were you given the ticket?

After he gave you the ticket, you're not dealing with him anymore.
Why don't you just come out and say you're trying to get it fixed and you need his name so your contact can find the ticket

Truth. Call the DA of the jurisdiction where the ticket was issued.

There's an app for that.

He'll have to show up in court if you decide to fight the ticket. Why someone would fight a non-moving violation is beyond me though.

Why? You won't interact with him again.

He's not fighting it; he wants to add him to his Christmas card list

Get a job with the administration department of the state troopers. Once you have access to their computer, just type his badge number in and get the info.
Then just quit.

You could. Any attempt to fight the ticket will require knowing who gave you the ticket in the first place.

What area was it?
Find the corresponding Troop and call them. They will answer. Although I don't see why you need the name.
