I was wondering if it's worth trying to hang on and wait out the bad management in the City of New Orleans or move out to greener pastures. Taxes for my house in Lakeview have almost doubled and I'm sure that next year will be even worse.

Crime, corrupt and inept city services like S & WB as well as all of the other things that are affecting this city appear too hard for this admin to tackle.

JP isn't much better and I'm not a big fan of the North Shore.

What is everyone else doing?

I don’t care if you come to the northshore, but please leave liberalism in the city if you come. Thanks, in advance.

it sucks that to live somewhere without crime, you also have to deal with the most boring people and nightlife imaginable.

you can bring liberalism as long as it’s moderate. It will have no negative effects on anyone’s lives

Edit: the OT- we don’t even want MODERATE liberals in our town, we are that serious about politics

It's easier for us to post comments than it is for you to pick up and move but I really don't see how these issues are going to get better in the foreseeable future.

I could not imagine paying what people in Louisiana pay for property taxes, state income taxes, home and car insurance. Crazy.

Its worth it

They have extremely high return for their taxes

They are not ranked 50 out of 50 in EVERY category.

This is a huge win.

I'm in same scenario, can hit a driver to the Starbucks on Harrison. My wife and I are planning to sell and leave in 10 years when the youngest graduates HS. Can double down on downsizing and getting put of the Chocolate City. IMO not bad enough to have to escape immediately.

Move to Bogalusa. I cook great ribs and nobody is paying what they're supposed to in property taxes.
