Robert Simmon NASA's Mr. Blue Marble on how everything is made in Photoshop. He paint the oceans and land from a series of photos, he even says there are gaps between the photos he has to fill in entirely (which would happen if you project flat onto round)

It looks like what it does. Where you can zoom your camera 50 miles over a flat plane and see the ground even though it should be curves thousands of feet.

Go in the country and look at a star and tell me if you really think it's a gas ball trillions of miles away. It twinkles, dances, changes shape. This is what a sun would look like? A twinkling point of white light. So if we made a copy of our sun on the nightime side of earth and then sent it away through space on a line, eventually it would become a star. That seems odd. But before that it'd be a smaller circle, because the sun looks like a circle. The point of light would be the last thing before it disappears. But none of the stars look like smaller circles. They are all the points of light. You can make them appear and disappear, go brighter or dimmer with atmospheric conditions and light pollution, but they do not become smaller circles, they are always points if light. The sun spreads its over everything, it's almost inescapable unless you go entirely underground, build a solid wall all around yourself. How does a gas ball that far away not diffuse light anywhere and come through as a single twinkling point of light? Stars actually look like they are right there, embedded in the sky. You can feel this effect in your house by putting star stickers in the ceiling, because that is what stars look like. Like they are stuck on the sky. A gas ball flying into the sky never looks a star.

The full moon provides enough light (supposedly reflected) to illuminate a night time enough to work and read. Light brightness (lux) is quadratic to distance. If you half your distance to any light source (original or reflected) the light gets 4x brighter. The apparent brightness of the sun in the brightest part on earth in the brightest part of summer is around 120,000 lux. Based on the supposed distance to the moon (hundreds of thousands of miles) the brightness on the moon should be MILLIONS of lux, unfathomably melt your eyeballs bright, brighter than anything ever experienced on earth.

flat earthing gaining any popularity is probably a symptom of how untrustworthy our institutions are being viewed.

It amazes me to what degree most people will accommodate two totally opposite systems in the name of "not rocking the boat." The manual for flying -- aeronautic navigation -- specifically notes "the assumption of a flat, non-rotating earth". Indeed.

IF science sez "This earth is a 'spinning ball'", then what of the globe sitting on Felix ("fish-eye lens OFF!") Baumgardner's desk?

Don't know when it happened, but at some point in time the evidence of our own eyes, ears, and logic gave way to the "opinions & assumptions of others" -- sight unseen. THAT is what you just described of our literal indoctrination of the "Solar System" and Balls begun from the baby-crib.
