No, especially nowadays.

My handwriting is pretty bad and I consider myself reasonably well-educated. I've known very intelligent, well-read people whose handwriting was actually much worse than mine, barely above the chicken-scratch level.

Has anyone ever noticed females generally having better handwriting than males? I've known some chicks that could have made professional calligraphers. I wonder if this was due to females in the past writing letters more often, or being more likely to keep a diary.

Mine has never been good, but it has regressed over the years, I found some old notes from post-college years that were fairly neat. I first thought my girlfriend from the time had written them.

I finally realized it was my legible handwriting from many years ago. It's so much worse now.

I can remember that it would worsen over holiday and summer breaks from lack of use. Now it is almost never used, so it is awful.
