Trump killed mainstream media.

Their derangement syndrome has made the Cartoon Network more reliable and their ratings are higher.

Until internet becomes a subsidized utility and the current 50-80 demo dies, BROADCAST TV serves a purpose.

FAST (Pluto, Roku, etc) is wildly popular and will take its place, but you need very large libraries to fill time on those channels.

If you care for any insight:

They don’t want older people watching. They want 18-49

A couple of days ago they released the nielsons on inauguration coverage across all networks. The one I saw had total viewership and broke out 25-54. Only 10-20% of the total was in that bracket. You know 0-24 would be negligible.

The most rosy situation would be that 75% of viewership was 55+.

Their future is only slightly better than print.

They might want a younger demo, but they aren't walking through the door. Sports is the only thing holding it together.
