Most Christians I know are fake who go to church to meet people and not share beliefs. Their family values are as liberal as they come and use god as a way to check the box but not follow the teachings.
You know a bunch of cultural Christians.

Well how do you define conservative values? I know a few Muslims. I work with a guy who is Muslim who's a great guy. Honestly he's no different than some dude who's a Methodist who goes to church every Sunday and does the Church picnic stuff. I kid you not. You would't know if he's Muslim or Methodist if you were neighbors or very casual friends. You notice it though when he fasts during Ramadan but he makes no big deal out of it. You'd think he's just not eating lunch.
They you have the dudes who wash their feet at work and have a room so they can pray to Mecca. And there's a dude at my gym who rolls out a towel in front of lockers in the direction of Mecca and prays while dudes are walking around naked.
There is a variety in religious beliefs and practices within a religion.

Friend,
The only values I hold dearly are those taught by the man who was God, Jesus Christ. That means giving without counting the cost, forgiving and praying for enemies, walking a path of peace, worrying not for the morrow, fighting for justice wherever it is absent.
Jesus values are the only values that have any import to me.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Freedom of Religion also means I can choose whether or not I wish to practice any faith at all and church and state should be completely separate
And that's not happening now
I am curious about your hangups here?

Jews are the ones who truly hold conservative values. Judaism is also the one true religion, that was created by God before the rest of them.

Not reform Judaism. Its pure communism.

It's not conservative to cut someone's hand off because they stole something.

Before you infer anything, I'm not particularly religious.

Yes.
I admire Muslims now. Funny how 2001 - 2023 can change a persons perspective.

For basic social decency & punishment of crime, yes. For involuntary female circumcision and suicide for Jesus, no.

What are you talking about? I was pointing out that the US is supposed to have some separation between church and state, particularly with no established state religion. With OPs misguided thoughts, I was pointing out a separation would not happen in his scenario.
Religion is for each their own. It is between you and your God. I have my faith and I practice privately. You wouldn't know unless I told you. People are free, and should be free to practice whatever they wish, openly or not; however, that right does not supersede others' rights. The laws or morals of one's religion should not govern those that do not hold those same values.
A big one was gay marriage. Your religion does not allow it, then you should have to right to not allow a gay wedding at your place of worship, BUT, if your job is with the government and a primary duty is to issue marriage licenses, you do not have the right to deny them of their license because of your faith, which is something that did happen.

Freedom of Religion implies you are free to practice no religion
Why should your faith govern mine?

Both are conservative, Muslims more so.
Not all conservatives are of the American variety.

Are you sure they’re not Indians? I didn’t know Muslims were in the telemarketing game

Judaism is the grandfather of liberalism. It’s funny how American conservatives will bend over backwards to appease Jews and think the Muslims are their enemy. They think Muslims hate them and Jews like them, when really it’s the opposite
Actually, it would be funny, if it wasn’t just sad as frick.
