Is it just me, or do the 9/11 references seem way scaled down?

Been out and about today, watched a couple games, listened to the radio. Seems a little quiet to the fact of remembering that day compared to past years.

I guess that’s part of aging. Never Forget!

Big things last year for the 20th anniversary. 21st on a Sunday not as well celebrated.

Biden surrendered Afghanistan back to the Taliban for no reason.

I’m assuming it’s because it’s a Sunday and the first day of NFL. And I haven’t tuned into any news channels all weekend.
I certainly thought about it yesterday flying out of Logan.

I think the 11th being on a Sunday played a factor, but the NFL games did a remembrance for 9/11 and 60 mins did a whole show about it.

Have you ever noticed that ‘they’ sort of want you to forget 9/10 and how much freer we were?

Yeah, not making 9-11 anniversary a political grandstand makes me such a pussy.

Imagine being an internet tough guy like you, though.

What does this have to do with remembering those who lost their life on 9/11/2001?

Either way, do you realize Trump was the one who made the agreement to leave Afghanistan when they did?

quote:

The blame game has begun over who lost Afghanistan.

The fact is, President Joe Biden and his predecessor, Donald Trump, were both eager to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan and end what Biden referred to in his Aug. 16 speech as “America’s longest war.”

The Trump administration in February 2020 negotiated a withdrawal agreement with the Taliban that excluded the Afghan government, freed 5,000 imprisoned Taliban soldiers and set a date certain of May 1, 2021, for the final withdrawal.

And the Trump administration kept to the pact, reducing U.S. troop levels from about 13,000 to 2,500, even though the Taliban continued to attack Afghan government forces and welcomed al-Qaeda terrorists into the Taliban leadership.

Let me know if this is a source you don't trust, there are other sources with this information that you might consider more creditable.

Trump deserves just as much blame as Biden, but most of you mother frickers were all for it when Trump talked about being in support of it, but when it happened under Biden all off a sudden it was a bad idea. You are either for something or you are not. Don't be a pussy and support shite just because someone else tells you to.

Nothing. But it lets people signal their virtue.

No we aren't.

If we were you would be taking up arms instead of anonymously whining on social media.

Late 30s. 9-11 was my senior year of high school. Was walking between first and second period when we found out. Went into lockdown the rest of the day, then watched the second plane hit. It's probably been the defining moment of my life, considering how much everything changed afterwards.

How old are you?

The Taliban had nothing to do with 9/11. The Saudis did. We invaded the one's who didn't have anything to do with it and stayed there for 20 years. We give those responsible billions in weapons to carpet bomb Yemen into the Stone Age. The entire War on Terror has been a fraud and a taxpayer subsidy to defense contractors.
