It is def. a message but I need more deets to fully translate. White socks or dress socks? Were they 'paired up' or loose? If loose, were they lying flat or balled up?

Seems like you could contact the authorities and get this documented. It's obvious this is from an ex who is stocking you.

Hmm they could have just thrown the socks on the ground, trash, or washed them. I think I would report it so authorities can start developing a trend. Have you narc'd on anyone recently?

This is level 2. White socks are far less ominous. We ALL know why. BUT, things could be much worse as they are just ankle socks. The taller the footwear the greater the danger. Black knee socks mean you are out of warnings.

Loose

Not good. Paired means only one offense. Loose means multiple.

Lying flat

This means nothing.

Did the socks in question smell as if they had been worn, OR did they look like somebody tried to use them for paper mache? If it's the second, refer to the first 5 mins of American pie!

It's not a policy of mine to smell random socks that do not belong to me, even ones that turn up in my mailbox, so I'm sorry I can't answer the question. They certainly looked worn, though.

No doubt about that, but at least the message would have been a bit more clear.
