It follows US Hwg 11 which was one of the original major original arteries in the US from New Orleans up to the Northeast. May not be a lot of cars compared to other connections between major cities or along the coast, but there are a significant amount of trucks and commercial vehicles that use it.

otta be tied with I49 between Opelousas and Shreveport. How they justified spending $500 Billion on that is beyond me.

I tend to agree with your premise, but damn I love being able to get from Fort Worth to LSU's campus in like 6.5 hours

Yeah but I notice pretty much everyone here calls it 59. Highway 59/I-69.

I59 from Slidell to Chattanooga is the same except for Birmingham (really I20). I love it.

Once you hit 24 into Chattanooga, it changes quick. Traffic from Atlanta and Nashville makes things much much worse. The triangle between Knoxville, Nashville, and Nooga is roads I absolutely hate to be on. I don't go to Atlanta enough to hate them yet.

I agree, 59 is quite enjoyable though.

Drove it twice last week from Meridian to Laurel then took 84 to Brookhaven and I think I only passed like 5 cars each way, pretty nice drive and beats having to knock fillings out driving through Jackson to hit 55 south.

I love it. When I do get to drive that stretch like this morning, I get to catch up on all my tigerdroppings reading while cruising.

Every interstate highway in or within 80 miles of Atlanta can eat a big bag of dicks.

I-55 from Jackson to Memphis is just awful. There is just nothing there. Nothing. What maybe two rest areas the whole way?????
