Is Highway 16 open?

Anyone know if Highway 16 is open between Denham and Amite? Trying to get from Baton Rouge to Amite to help the parents.
Also, what about Florida/190 between BR and Denham? Any help is appreciated.

As of 2am last night I can confirm that 16 is open from Hwy 449 in Pine Grove and is clear all the way to Folsom. I'm not sure how much further west it was open but at the 449/16 Junction I could have continued West if I needed to.
I used that route last night to get into Walker to pick up some stranded friends.
Be careful in the area west of Amite, around Montpelier I think. There are flooded cars strewn all about the road, in the middle and shoulders.

Yes. My parents are there. I've checked the DOTD website (no road closures) checked my few facebook friends (who don't seem to know anything), and tried checking the local paper.
Thought someone on here might give some useful information rather than a sarcastic comment. Looks like that was my second mistake for the day.

190 is closed, and I think Hwy 16 is closed in some spots from Denham through Watson. It will be hard to get into LP (my husband is currently stuck there trying to get back to BR with family), and as someone said, LP has issued a travel restriction:

Cane Market Road from Watson all the way to Hwy. 449 all the way to Florida BLVD. Is clear.

If you take I-10 East towards New Orleans, you should be able to take I-55 North to Amite.
