Halloween is great, just a ton of fun. October in general is usually a great time of year. Football and good weather (when there isn't a hurricane).

Not sure it beats Christmas and Thanksgiving when you get multiple days off work and see family, but they are also a bit of trouble w/ travel, gifts, Halloween is def my favorite day you don't actually get off work.

My next would be July 4, then New Year's. If in NOLA I'd put Mardi Gras above Halloween. Superbowl Sunday is in my top 10.

Throw out the Christmases and Thanksgivings and I am more of a 4th of July guy, I just think Halloween is more for the kids.

It was a great holiday for kids when I was a kid. It's not now because the adults took it over. That sucks for the kids.

I understand it's a great holiday for single guys on a poon hunt. I took full advantage of it when I was in my 20's and 30's. Now it's just the day I give the kids next door candy.

MY mom went into labor while trick or treating. A few hours later, I was born.

My sis was about 3 years old and boy was she mad that I ruined her Halloween trick or treating. All these years later she is still mad about it

It's ok.I give out a lot of candy.I'm the 1st house on the Street so I seem to get my share. Most come early with Parents. After dark they're,I guess driving age.

I turn the porch light off around 8 pm if I haven't run out of candy already.

It isn't a Holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas. No Family gathering. No big meal that you get once a year.

Thanksgiving Rules.Family.Football.Food.

Thanksgiving for me. Nothing beats eating and watching football with family.

I love Halloween. Only drawback is you don't get the day off

may feel like a grouch saying this, but it seems the older I get, the more I start to dislike Halloween. Loved it when I was a kid, and loved up throughout college too, and even after that. Does this make me odd?

No, it makes you an adult. Every holiday gets to be more responsibility and less unrestricted fun as you get older.

Still love Halloween though. Although I've had to trade in 21 year old coeds in skimpy outfits for that mom down the street in a skimpy outfit.
