I think of boudin as an infrequent or special-occasion item (at parties and get-togethers) in South Louisiana and not for everyday consumption.

I don't know if Alabama invented country fried steak and biscuits and white gravy, but I've had some damn good meals from little mom-and-pop restaurants out there.
