The older I get, the less I care about arguing. I will offer my input or opinion pretty much once. If the other person wants to know more, I'll tell them. When I want to understand someone else's stance, I ask questions. The thing is, you will rarely change people's minds about anything. So really, you're just going around alienating people to be "right". Who cares? People are often dumb, but they're dumb because they don't listen. You're not going to fix that by winning an argument

To be honest, I have noticed you not jumping down everyone's throats non-stop like you used to, so its an improvement and I definitely agree with you.

Oh, the arrogance of youth. We've all been there.

One of the biggest douchebags I've ever met insisted he knew everything and was an adult, despite graduating high school less than a month before. This douche comes to China for a gap year, and he is a part of my American/European apartment/tutoring program. Most the guys/girls living there are in their early to mid 20s and he took great offense to being treated as young and insisted on being treated as an adult.

I only spent a week with the guy before going off backpacking around Asia for over 2 months, and we start smoking weed. I get pretty high, but then the douche tells me I need to stop smoking since he's not going to drag me to the hospital. Call him a fricking douche to his face, but my friends think I was a bit too hard on him.

Go backpacking and move back 2 months later. Get back, and his nickname is now "Kiddo" and "Mr. Adult" and everyone calls him a douche right to his face. They said they thought I was a bit harsh before I left, but he stayed as douchy after I left. He'd get so pissed every time someone called him that, and relentlessly stalked everyone about going out even when his room mates told him to stay at home. Eventually moved back early due to our "lack of respect for him".

Well first off Paige never asked me my age. I'll answer you when your questions start to make sense

I think "How old are you?" is a pretty straight forward and simple question.

When and where did I say anything...

Lying and insulting everybody does not mean that you "win" some argument that only exists in your head.

Your inferred i tried using the term groupthink in the incorrect way, did you not?

Your picture basically supports that.

Wow. You aren't debating anything here. At all. You are nitpicking silly bs in an attempt to appear superior

I asked you nicely twice why you called me delusional and yet you have provided no reasoning. That's the basis of logic and debate

I implied you don't know what you are talking about, and you poorly expressed yourself. Now you are misdirecting the conversation with a red herring. Much like you did in the first place.

Again, lying and insulting everybody doesn't mean that you "win" some argument that only exists in your head. A "debate" isn't coming up with the most impetuous and underhanded ways to insult the person with whom you are trying to have a conversation.

ETA: I have better things to do than argue with a child. I have work in the morning. Good night.

I seriously have been multitasking studying and this thread so i genuinely missed your question.

Your post came off as sarcastic that's why i called you delusional.

What's too hard to understand about the concept of "group thinking"? Not groupthink. You were basically a sheep following the herder when you failed to look for other possible explanations and just agreed with paige.

Nice argument. You must have gone to Harvard

Look kid, you may think you're a great debater. But you have proved the opposite in this thread

One of teachers' jobs is to make you think critically. Good teachers also want to encourage you and motivate you

I'm old. I have a 16 year old kid. We also debated about redistribution of wealth last night. I don't want my son to be a bleeding heart liberal but I gave up on that argument because he'll figure it out when he enters the workforce

There are lots of times that he tells me his great worldview and I just go along with him because it's really something inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. I don't want to constantly tell him he's wrong or treat him like an idiot who can't think for himself

So sometimes I "debate" with him and let him win
