It was hard to do during the election. But if I’m talking about Game of Thrones or in an AskReddit thread about “Why guys eat arse” I don’t expect there to be a lot if any politically related stuff. Even if there are a few it’s not hard to ignore it.

If you have a hobby or interest in anything there is probably a sub with lots of great information. I like the chess sub for example because that is one of my hobbies.

Depends on the sub. For example, some will ban you if you suggest something illegal. Unfortunately, the mods usually aren't legal experts which means they will ban something that *seems* illegal even if it isn't really.
Others won't ban you for basically anything unless lots of people report you. And some other will ban you for anything. There's a Donald Trump sub that will ban you for saying anything critical of Trump at all - they proudly say so, it isn't merely implied.
Something that will get the company in legal trouble will probably get you banned, for example thefappening.
