Well at the end of the day someone had to be buying product and Amway does sell a lot of product.

I hated the pitches the people wanted to give but the people that are successful are the ones that actually inventoried a pretty good bit of product to sell. There are few that are successful.

I think their product quality is pretty good.

His daughter in law is Betsy DeVos current Secretary of Education for Trump and her brother is Eric Prince founder of Blackwater Security.

Amway is very successful and still around and DeVos family runs Michigan pretty much.

Yeah, the reps buy it and pile it up in their garages whilst Amway takes their money hand over fist for conferences and "training."

Do they have anything to do with Avocare? cause that is one hell of a pyramid company and they spend a shitton of money advertising on the sports networks.

They have a negative reputation in America. Most of their business is international and they are killing it in India and China.

By no means where I trying to imply that I support them, I was just saying that they sponsor a sports arena. I think they even sponsor a bowl game, but I don't understand how they are not considered a pyramid scheme.

Your success depends on the number of people who are under you and how active they are.

When I was younger (early teens), one of my aunts and uncles joined Amway. Their twin sons, my cousins, were the same age as me and we grew up more like brothers than cousins so I was there pretty often.

At one point, everything in their house was amway. Everything from potato chips to soap. Their products might have improved since then, but I use to hate that everything in their house was Amway because it was as if the Amway version was the poor man's version of that product.

Both my aunt and uncle had pretty good jobs and when they started, it was supposed to be something they would do in their spare time then it got to the point where it consumed them. Outside of work, that is all they did. They tried to sell people on the whole idea of "getting rich". They must have stayed in that phase for about a year then all of a sudden they just gave it up.

I think they finally realized that in order to have a chance to be successful, you have to put all of your time and energy into it and even then it wasn't a guaranteed thing. For some reason I think they looked at it as an investment. Either way, it just seemed like it was a complete sham.

As long as it's set up where it's possible to make more money than the person over you, then it's legally not a pyramid scheme. I was in it for about a month when I was young and dumb.

Unfortunately. My SO's son-in-law has gotten into it (after being in Primerica before that).

But how is that possible? Let's say I was in Amway and I had 10 people under me. Each person all 10 of those people have under them would also benefit me right? And how can I be over someone and they make more than me?

When you say you are over someone, that just means you recruited them? So you can recruit someone, they can be your only person, yet they are able to get 10-12 people under them?

Demographics choose politicians. Nothing to do with real power.

And Betsy DeVos family is extremely wealthy as well. Her father had a die cast manufacturing company and also made car visors of all things. She is kind of out there and her brother is pretty aggressive as well.
