Oh I need to study for a test about a subject I've been taught all semester by an expert in the field. Let me take an amphetamine because I can't sit still and focus on studying because I have no will power.

Never once had to use any medication to get through college nor was I ever tempted too. I guess mental toughness isn't something people value anymore.

You are able to cope and handle life stressor, these people cannot.

Adults who take adderall are akin to the 35yr old soccer moms who have to take Xanax to "make it through the day" .

It has everything to do with our society being so easy now. We're so comfortable all the time nobody knows how to handle being challenged.

I've heard about people using Adderall with booze, but having never used that combination myself, I don't know what the effect is.

I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 11. It wasn't just a matter of me going to a doctor, my parents telling him/her that I am hyperactive, he gives you a form with some questions, evaluate the form and then decides right there that the kid has ADD (I had a doctor who retired and when I switched doctors I asked if he needed my files from the neurologist. He told me, that wouldn't be necessary, he just needed me to fill out a one page form. And I remember someone saying that their child didn't go to a neurologist, they just went to the doctor I switched to and he "diagnosed" her child with ADD after reading the form).

At the time ritalin was the common ADHD medication. After taking Adderall for a little while in HS I stopped, just because I wasn't as social as I was without it. It did affect my grades. It wasn't until the Summer after my first semester when I decided I needed to get my shite together, stop worrying about who was doing what and what was going on, etc outside of school and I decided to started taking Adderall again and it helped. I could actually concentrate. Read without having to read a sentence 3 or 4 times before I actually pay attention to what it was sayung..

Anyway, I posted all of that to say.. I still take it every day and I do not drink. Every once in awhile, I might go somewhere and have a drink, but with adderall in my system, if I drink one drink and stop, it makes me really tired and it's not worth it IMO.

No, pharmacologically it is just amphetamine. Desoxyn is meth. Fda says good for children as young as 6 btw

This. People who say it's pharmaceutical meth are just repeating what they've been told, by people who don't know what they're talking about.

I know more and more people who are taking Adderall as a stimulant and to gain "focus", and it's not just college kids, it's people from all walks of life. Plenty of doctors are handing out scripts like they're candy. Some people are taking their own children's medication.

this isnt anything new though. Adderall an similar ADD drugs have been popular for recreational and/or self medicating use for like 20 years now.

As many have referenced, adderall is basically government grade/legalized amphetamines. Used in small doses, it's not nearly as bad for the body as other stuff, including opioids.

It's the same class of drug as meth. I believe Adderall is Dextroamphetamine. Not 100% sure though.

correct. meth is just a stronger amphetamine; everything is intensified- the high, the comedown, the side effects, etc.

Amphetamines and Methamphetamine are similar but different.

It does wonders if you plan on day drinking and you have an event later in the evening so you can keep going.

Also incredibly helpful during Mardi Gras and LSU night games. Pop an addy at half time and keep on going.

Adderall is a miracle drug for me. I am able to focus my genius instead of wanting to sleep and not do anything because I can’t focus.

Highly suggest taking it while in Vegas. I’m a whiz at blackjack while on it.
