Dogs? Excuse me, is this what you do?

Is that the only time you work? Or do you run a lawn mowing service for your little neighborhood? Maybe you better learn to live with the fact that a lot of people work during the week and Saturday is one day to relax in the back yards they slave over to make into a really nice place to enjoy - without the loud sounds of combustion engines blowing away the quiet.

If you want to enjoy combustion engines and noise early in the morning, go to some NASCAR track and park yourself.

It's not about "permission" it's about being considerate of other people. Sure this is 'Murica, and you've got the right to run your mower and equipment at whatever time as you dammmmm well please. Only one thing - to have a right also suggests having a responsibility - in this case, a responsibility to be a good neighbor in the morning and not be the first one to start your engines. That really a hardship for you?

8 is fair game in my book. But I personally wait till 9 since that's what my neighbors now do when they do work in the mornings.

Night shifts=dogs

And no...my blow up doll doesn't make much sound except for an occasional squeak, like rubbing balloons together.

Maybe the only time I have to mow is right after I get off of work in the morning and I want to get it out of the way before i shower and go to sleep.

I sleep during the day. If people's completely understandable activities keep me awake, I put in earplugs and put insulation on the widows and turn up the TV, because I don't assume that my activity takes precedence over everyone else's.

I don't like NASCAR or left turns, but until they make a Prius Lawnmower, I'll deal with a little noise.

Unless you just want me to let it grow 6 feet tall.

Now this is funny! I'v visualizing the use of a rubber with your blow-up doll. Not pretty sight, but fully explains squeaks. Funny.

I get your situation now. Didn't realize I was jousting with a night-shifter. Whole different picture. Sorry for giving you a hard time. And maybe being neighbors wouldn't be so bad - if I promise not to be whiney.

Not a problem. I drink in the morning before I go to bed so I'm usually friendlier after that.

Believe me, if I cut my grass early it's got nothing to do with you or wanting to disturb you. Just taking care of business with the time I've got.

I like to sit outside in the morning with a beer and listen to the birds too. But if I hear an engine crank I'll just chalk it up to men doing what they need to get done and not take it as a personal affront.

Now if you start mowing the lawn at 9 pm...that's a different story
